Back from Origins, the premier Ohio gaming convention. It was my first time, and it was a blast. Played a lot of new games, and spent a bit too much money, but what the hell. Also...ponies. On impulse, yesterday I picked up a set of pencils, colored pencils, and markers while at the convenience store. Today I used them to draw a little. Just used a simple picture as a guide and started coloring. Now to put things in perspective: When I was very, very small I played with crayons, but I can accurately say I haven't tried to draw in well over a decade. Sure there'd be a school project or a sketch map for a role playing game, but these I just did with as little effort as possible so I could move on with my life. God damn, has work kicked my ass the last couple weeks. I'm in the process of being PROMOTED...to more work, with no additional pay. And yet, no matter how exceptionally crappy the day is...I can come home, turn on MLP's "Smile, Smile, Smile" song, and once more develop the ability to feel joy. I would say that makes me a capitalized "Brony," but honestly I think that happened when I started writing fanfics. I hope my brothers never find out about this.
